49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom; Pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness were in her and her daughters, and neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
50 And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.

MFM Devotional For Today 2023 MESSAGE:
As the case may be, all problems have causes, effects, and sometimes solutions. However, with God, there is always a solution to every problem because all things are possible. The Almighty God always has our back as His beloved children. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

Another thing that causes problems in the family is Pride. The Bible says that Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall (Proverbs 16:18). Pride in the lives of family members will bring the wrath of God upon them. It does not allow God to move in the family as He would want to. It limits the move of God in the family. A proud family can never generally experience the fullness of God’s favor, glory, and blessings. God resists the proud; He does not hide His disdain for Pride. Therefore, any proud family can never boast of the presence of God and all the blessings that come with it.
Pride in a family portends danger to that family. If you look at it very well, you will find that Pride is behind every evil man’s actions toward fellow men. Family members are not spared in its destructive work. That is how horrible Pride can be. Joseph prided himself on his spiritual gift of dreams and visions, and also his father’s favor for him over his brothers, and his brothers almost murdered him. The couple, Adam and Eve, became over-confident and never regarded God anymore. The end was the loss of peace and, eventually, destruction.
We must learn to raise our families to fear God and always give Him the glory.
Pride leads to disobedience and rebellion. It causes strife and disunity. One proud person will put a whole family in trouble. Pride is a sin because it makes people self-centered instead of God-centred. In Matthew 3:9, John the Baptist warned the Pharisees and Sadducees against their boastful Pride and claim to have Abraham as their father. Because of Pride, Naaman almost missed his miracle and God’s visitation to his family. I pray that Pride will not destroy your family, in Jesus’ Name.
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
- Every spirit of Pride in the foundation of my family dies in the Name of Jesus.
- Generational Pride and arrogance in my family line die in the Name of Jesus.
- The spirit of Pride shall not destroy my family and me in the Name of Jesus.
EVENING
- Holy Spirit, teach us to fear the Lord and honor Him in Jesus’s Name.
- Spirit of humility, overshadow my family, in the Name of Jesus.
- Every good thing that my family has lost due to Pride should be restored in the Name of Jesus.
- Father Lord, glorify Your Name in my family, in the Name of Jesus.
