TOPIC: Lessons From The Life Of Miriam (IV) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 26 March 2024)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Samuel 20, 1 Samuel 21, 1 Samuel 22, James 4, James 5

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Exodus 15:20-21 (KJV)

20 And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; all the women went out after her with timbrels and dances.

21 And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the Lord, for he triumphed gloriously; the horse and rider hath he thrown into the sea.

MEMORY VERSE: “Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his blood.” – Acts 20:28 (KJV)

Who you follow determines who follows you; influence is powerful.

Take praise and worship songs as led by the Holy Spirit.

MFM Devotional For Today 2023 MESSAGE:

Miriam was a leader. She greatly influenced the women in their congregation so that they all followed her. The Bible says,”. ….and all the women went out after her with timbrels and dances.” She must have lived a life worthy of emulation that may have caused all the women to want to follow her leadership. I want to point out here that all women could not have been so sheepish as to follow a leader who does not have a track record of an exemplary lifestyle. Even if some are that sheepish, definitely all cannot be. The Scripture says all went after her. What a great leader!

Beloved, when you look at how you interact with others, are you someone others want to be around and follow? What kind of leader are you? Is it the one that tells people to “do as I say but don’t do as I do.” Note that before, all the women went after her with timbrels; she took a timbrel herself first. She led by example. She wasn’t like the Pharisees who bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne and lay them on men’s shoulders, but they will not move them with one of their fingers- (Matthew 23:4). She didn’t sit on the high table bossing everyone around. Her leadership made others want to serve God.

Another lesson we can learn from her is that she was a worshipper. She sang praises to God with her voice, timbrel, and dance. God has won a significant battle for them. She didn’t trivialize the doings of God. Instead, she showed it and danced as David danced. Although they are not yet in their promised land, she celebrates every bit of the victories that showed up along the way to their promised land. She was not ashamed to testify to the world that God is the doer of wonders. Many of us take so many of God’s wonders in our lives for granted. Let us cultivate the habit of worshiping God all the time.

1. Father, I thank You for fighting my battles for me, in the name of Jesus
2. Father, I thank You for all the ways You have come through for me. Be exalted, in the name of Jesus.
3. Doer of wonders, I thank You because You will make my life a joyous wonder in the name of Jesus.

4. I shall not mislead others, or be misled, in the name of Jesus.
5. I receive the grace to live a life worthy of emulation in the name of Jesus.
6. I refuse to be a bad leader in the name of Jesus.
7. Hand of God, rest upon my life for good, in the name of Jesus.
