READ: Psalms 51:1-5

1 (To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.) Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.

4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

MESSAGE

The phrase ‘pardon me’ is used T to politely say sorry when a fellow accidentally interrupts while another fellow is in the middle of saying or doing something. For example, you can say, “Oh! Pardon me, I didn’t mean to disturb you.” The phrase could also be used to say sorry in a polite way when you make an impolite sound, especially after eating. It could also be used to politely correct someone or disagree with them. For example, you can say, “Kate, if you’ll pardon me, you’ve got it all wrong.” The phrase ‘pardon me’ can also be used to get someone’s attention in order to ask them a question. For example, you can say, “Pardon me, can you direct me to the restroom?”

Everyone deserves to be respected; hence, you should use words that express kindness, good character, love, and consideration for other people. If you can get accustomed to this etiquette early enough in life, you will have a beautiful relationship with people.

KEY POINT

Speak nicely to people.
