TOPIC: Prayers For Yourself

MEMORISE: “No weapon formed against thee shall prosper, and thou shalt condemn every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.” – Isaiah 54:17 (KJV)

READ: Luke 1:26-35 (KJV)

12 And I will make thy windows of agates, the gates of carbuncles, and all thy borders of pleasant stones.

13 And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord and great shall be the peace of thy children.

14 In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.

15 Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.

16 Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire and bringeth an instrument for his work, and I have made the waster to destroy.

17 No weapon formed against thee shall prosper, and thou shalt condemn every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.

HYMN 22 – Sweet Hour Of Prayer! Sweet Hour Of Prayer!

1 Sweet hour of prayer! Sweet hour of prayer!
that calls me from a world of care,
and bids me at my Father’s throne
make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
my soul has often found relief,
and oft escaped the tempter’s snare
by thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

2 Sweet hour of prayer! Sweet hour of prayer!
the joys I feel, the bliss I share
of those whose anxious spirits burn
with strong desires for thy return!
With such, I hasten to the place
where God my Savior shows his face,
and gladly take my station there,
and wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

3 Sweet hour of prayer! Sweet hour of prayer!
thy wings shall my petition bear
to him whose truth and faithfulness
engage the waiting soul to bless.
And since he bids me seek his face,
believe his word, and trust his grace,
I’ll cast on him my every care,
and wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

HAPPY NEW MONTH TO YOU ALL!!!

TOPIC: Called To Partnership

MEMORISE: “And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.” – Exodus 14:21 (KJV)

READ: Luke 1:26-35 (KJV)

26 And in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,

27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.

28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favored, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at what he was saying and asked what manner of salutation this should be.

30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favor with God.

31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, bring forth a son, and call his name Jesus.

32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his Father David:

33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom, there shall be no end.

34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

Open Heaven For Today 2024 MESSAGE

How can the All-Sufficient God, Who made the heavens and the earth, Who says silver and gold are His, and Who called light out of darkness, need a partner? How can God ever need to collaborate with somebody to achieve His purpose? Well, as we see in the Scriptures, God sometimes wants partnerships.

In Genesis 2:19, God brought them to Adam after creating everything and said, “Please name them for me.” In Exodus 14:15-28, when the children of Israel got to the Red Sea and were crying for fear, Moses asked God for help, and God said, “I will make a way in the Red Sea. However, I need your cooperation. Stretch your hands across the sea.” If Moses had refused to stretch his hands that day, the book of Exodus might have ended there, Israel might have been wiped out, and God probably might have had to find an alternative way for Jesus to be born. I pray that you will be available when God needs someone He can rely on in crises.

Years ago, when we were starting the church in Zambia, I visited the country for the first time. While discussing with my host, we talked about a man they called Cobra. He was a terrible and dangerous person. As we spoke, I heard God say that he must be saved. I told my host I wanted to preach to Cobra and asked him to take me to his house. He told me that I was not likely to come out alive. I insisted, and at last, he agreed to take me within walking distance to Cobra’s house, wait for 15 minutes after I entered, and leave if I didn’t come out in that time. I said, “No problem.” God wanted me to partner with Him to win that soul, and I knew I had to go. I went in to meet Cobra, and within 15 minutes, he was on his knees in surrender to Christ!

God needs partners to do His will on earth, but those who will partner with Him must be willing to go all the way for Him. When you hear God say, “I have found a man who will do all My will,” it means that He has been searching for someone to do all His will. Can God count on you to partner with Him and do all His will?

REFLECTION

In times of crises, can God find you worthy as a partner to do His will on earth?

HYMN 23 – Take My Life, And Let It Be

1 Take my life and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee;
Take my moments and my days,
Let them flow in ceaseless praise,
Let them flow in endless praise.

2 Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love;
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee,
Swift and beautiful for Thee.

3 Take my voice, and let me sing
Always, only, for my King;
Take my lips, and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee,
Filled with messages from Thee.

4 Take my silver and my gold;
Not a mite would I withhold;
Take my intellect and use
Every power as Thou shalt choose,
Every power as Thou shalt choose.

5 Take my will, and make it Thine;
It shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart; it is Thine own;
It shall be Thy royal throne,
It shall be Thy royal throne.

6 Take my love; my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet is treasure-store.
Take me, and I will be
Ever, only, all for Thee,
Ever, only, all for Thee.

Open Heaven For Today 2024 Wednesday Daily Devotional By Pastor E. A. Adeboye – Called To Be Prayerful

TOPIC: Called To Be Prayerful

MEMORISE: “Pray without ceasing.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (KJV)

READ: Luke 18:1-8 (KJV)

1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:

3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.

4 And he would not for a while: but afterward, he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;

5 Yet because this widow troubles me, I will avenge her, lest she weary me by her continual coming.

6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.

7 And shall not God avenge his elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, shall he find faith on the earth when the Son of man cometh?

Open Heaven For Today 2024 MESSAGE

Many ministers of God talk about and lead prayers often but hardly pray. When it is time for prayers, they announce the prayer point and ask people to pray, and all they do throughout is encourage them to keep praying; they don’t pray in prayer meetings or private. This is one of the reasons many don’t fulfill the call of God in their lives.

Apostle Paul was a man of prayer. In 1 Thessalonians 5:17, he said, “Pray without ceasing.” When I want to leave my house on a journey, I pray. When I get into the car, I pray again. When I get on the airplane, I pray again. The Bible says to pray without ceasing – keep praying. A songwriter said:

Christian, seek not yet repose,
Hear thy gracious Savior say;
Thou art amid foes: Watch and pray…

Around 1985, I had tried everything I knew, but the church wasn’t growing as I expected. Then, I heard about a pastor in South Korea whose church was increasing and who usually held a yearly Ministers’ Conference. I didn’t have the money to go, but I prayed, and God sent help. I went, and I saw what I had never seen before. I heard the pastor saying on the pulpit that those who had come that Sunday should not reach the following Sunday because of space, despite holding seven services every Sunday in a hall that could take 50,000 people. During the conference, they took us to his prayer mountain, where we were assigned to caves where we could pray privately. I lost track of time while praying in my cave, and by the time I finished, those who had come on the same bus with me had been waiting for me for at least one hour. When I got on the bus, they were angry and asked, “Why have you delayed us?” I said, “I’m sorry, I thought we came to pray.” They said, “Are you going to pray everything in one day?” Nobody spoke to me back, and that was fine because, in my heart, I was still roaring in prayer. Some years ago, I went back to South Korea. The first time I went, I couldn’t get close to the man of God, but this time, I could meet him – Dr Yonggi Cho of blessed memory. He said, “I have heard about you. Will you please pray for me?”

Beloved, I encourage you to pray continually (Ephesians 6:18).

KEY POINT

I don’t know where God is taking you, but if you want to get there, you must lead a prayerful life.
