BIBLE TEXT: 2 Kings 20:5-6
5 Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David, thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day, thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.
6 And I will add unto thy days fifteen years, and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria, and I will defend this city for mine and my servant David’s sake.
MESSAGE:
Hezekiah was a remarkable leader who served as the king of Judah during a great crisis. His story is one of faith, obedience, and the power of prayer. King Hezekiah was known for his unwavering faith in the Lord. He trusted God, which set him apart from other kings.
King Hezekiah knew that the only way to find peace and comfort during difficult times was to pray to the Lord. From the Bible reading, we see the power of prayer in action. King Hezekiah was ill and cried out to the Lord in prayer. He reminded God of his walk before Him. He was able to say this because he faithfully served God. There will be times when you will have to produce a strong case before God in the place of prayer. Isaiah 41:21 says, “Produce your strong reason…” Therefore, if you have no strong reason, what will you present?
My child, learn from Hezekiah and serve God faithfully to be efficacious and productive when you pray.
